    Artist Statement

The process of painting the human figure is deeply personal to me. I find it therapeutic to lose myself in the process, switch off from the world and enter my own utopia.

I am free to say anything I want through my art and use it as platform to articulate my thoughts. The books I read, the music I listen to and the places I visit all help shape my identity. It is my intention for this to seep through my images.

I tend to work in a series and will develop several panels at once so I can capture new ideas as they form. I paint the human figure with expressive mark making. This captures the drama, emotion and chaos that is part of being human.
